Today’s Hack:

Ever hear something that caused to you ask, “Is that really true?” There are common myths that float around all the time, so what myths are there when it comes to retirement planning?

Other Retirement Facts:

Inspired by the TV show, we will bust some of the possible myths that float around in the financial world to find out if they are myths or if they are actually plausible. You might be surprised to find out which is which!

How do you minimize volatility in your portfolio, is it by moving stocks to bonds like some say? Will that give you the security that you need or is that a myth? What about life insurance, is that something you really need in retirement?

Then, let’s consider your retirement income. Will you need less than when you were working, the same amount, or even more? Along with that, will your tax bracket go down in retirement?

But first, Phil shares about upcoming financial classes and discusses the latest in the news as well as answering a question from the mailbag. What do you think of the student loan forgiveness plans being suggested by our senators?

0:53 – School is back and AFS Wealth Management is hosting classes on taxes in retirement.

2:02 – The market seems stable right now, but is volatility ahead?

3:40 – In the News: Bernie Sanders wants to forgive student loan debt, and Elizabeth Warren has a school loan forgiveness plan as well. Is this a good idea or bad idea?
